# Quickstart

> Prepare a MailGenie workspace and execute the first controlled campaign workflow.

## Before you begin

You need an authorized MailGenie account, a configured delivery provider, and access to the named **Test Campaigns List**.

  All test sends, previews that submit mail, scheduled tests, and proof sends must resolve to the Test Campaigns List. Never use a customer, production, bulk, or marketing list for testing.

  <Step title="Sign in to the correct workspace">
    Open the MailGenie application and confirm the expected organization before viewing or changing contacts and campaigns.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect a sending account">
    In Settings, select the supported provider and complete its governed authorization flow. Do not paste credentials into documentation, screenshots, tickets, or chat.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Prepare contacts">
    Import or create contacts, map required fields, and confirm consent and suppression state before selecting an audience.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the campaign">
    Choose the campaign type, compose the message, configure sender identity, and review links and personalization fields.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the test audience">
    Resolve and select the Test Campaigns List. Verify the selected list in application-visible state before any provider submission.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review results">
    Inspect delivery, bounce, complaint, open, and click reporting. Treat missing or stale metrics as unavailable rather than as success.
